The work

Tightlines. Clean installs.
Nothing left for the next guy to fix.

The name comes from the trade. Tightlines — the way wires are supposed to be pulled, dressed, terminated, and labeled. Tension correct. Routes clean. Patch panels documented. Racks you’d photograph. Nothing loose. Nothing temporary. Nothing left for the next guy to fix.

Richard Brideau has been doing this work since before “smart home” was a marketing category. He came up through security, telecom, structured cabling, and low-voltage installations back when a building was lucky to have a single phone closet. He watched the industry move from analog phones to VoIP, from copper to fiber, from CCTV to IP cameras, from key fobs to mobile credentials. He adapted, learned the new platforms, and kept the same standard he started with: the work has to be right.

Tightlines was founded because the industry was filling up with companies that treated smart infrastructure like a consumer product — companies that treated installations as a transaction rather than a long-term commitment. Tightlines is the opposite of that. One owner. One crew. One number to call. One person accountable for every install from quote to handoff.

Based out of Putnam Valley, NY, Richard Brideau lives there with his wife and family. He is a licensed New York State Alarm Installer through the N.Y.S. Department of State under License #12000379465. Tightlines is fully insured.

Outside of the trade, Richard is an avid kayak fisherman — you can find him on the lakes all around the Hudson Valley hoping for tight lines on his pole as he hunts for big bass. He can be reached directly by call or text at 845.702.6623 and by email at rhbrideau@tightlinessmartsolutions.com.

01 — The Standard

If it's not right, it doesn't ship.

Cabling tested. Configurations documented. Walls patched. Debris removed. Every install gets walked at completion. Anything that doesn't meet the standard gets fixed before we leave.

02 — The Crew

Small and trusted.

Tightlines isn't built around volume. Richard works with a small crew he's trained personally. The team that works on your project is trained, vetted, and accountable.

03 — The Relationship

One number. One person.

You call 914.265.0151 and Richard picks up. Or his voicemail picks up. Either way, he calls you back personally. No call center. No ticketing system. No "your case has been escalated."

What Richard believes

The trade is older than the technology.

A few things Richard says often enough that we put them on the website.

"The reason your network's slow isn't your internet provider. It's the installation."

ON NETWORKING

"A camera you can't search isn't a security camera. It's a record."

ON SURVEILLANCE

"You can tell a good installation by what you can't see. Wires hidden. Boxes flush. No glue gun in sight."

ON FINISH WORK

"Documentation is for the next person. There's always a next person."
